enmore theatre, jan 27th.. [02 Feb 2005|09:06pm]

recently had the pleasure of seeing the spree twice in two days: first at the sydney big day out and secondly at their enmore theatre show the following night. both times were up there with some of the best shows i've ever seen, and i've been to quite a lot of shows.

anyhow, here's a few pics from the enmore show. i took a couple of them, the rest were taken by my girlfriend, thepinkfetus, as i was too busy going absolutely bats to take any form of a decent photo.

hope you guys like!

Hi everyone!

I saw the Polyphonic Spree last night - fantastic. It was definitely the best concert I've ever attended.

Hello there, this community seems pretty dead right now, so I thought I'd post some pictures from when I saw the Polyphonic Spree on Friday. They were here (in Oslo) for the Nobel peace prize ceremony, and played this really intimate gig for me and approximately seventy others, at the tiny Café Mono. It was incredible, it was ninety minutes of euphoric happiness. I don't think I have ever been that happy before :)

Rest to be found here. Please feel free to add comments to the pictures, if you like :)

the spree on E! [31 Jul 2004|10:00am]

somehow, i was watching E! News Live, and i saw a thing on the Spree. it was the same old, same old--you know, stuff about cults and religion, and happiness...but it was a lovely moment, lots of concert footage, lots of good things about their new album. oh, happy day!

just thought i'd share.

an if ya don know, now ya know [30 Mar 2004|09:36pm]

Pitchfork posted a news story today about the Polyphonic Spree that includes these things: a track listing for their upcoming album, news about a recent taping of Scrubs, and -- most importantly -- annoying factual errors (apparently TPS had two debuts, one in '01 and one in '02). But I do like that "the forthcoming full-length is said to propel the songwriting and performance of each of the group's 250+ members to unforseen [SIC LOL] heights."

In other news, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is excellent.

I've been listening to a lot of The Flaming Lips lately...they certainly do sound similar to TPS. I love them both. I like TPS because of the more orchestral thing, and Flaming Lips because of the more experimental elements.

Any thoughts?

Tim and Dave in SoCal [10 Mar 2004|08:38pm]

so my ex and i are both big David Bowie fans. in fact, i didn't know there was a bigger Bowie fan in my hometown till i met him. so i finally broke down and told him about the Spree's show with Bowie in April. he wants to take me, but alas! i live in the middle of nowhere until May.

anyone else planning on going to the show in Anaheim or LA? he'll be there, and you know i'll be there in spirit ;)

this is the most pointless post on the planet.

Live 105.3 keeps playing this sound clip of Tim Delaughter talking about TPS and its origins and stuff. Check it out if you're from the Bay Area. He's so cute-sounding!
